Skunk Removal

Once thought to be a relative of badgers, ferrets, and weasels, recent genetic evidence now classifies skunks in their own, separate family. Regardless of this, Pepé Le Pew is ranked at the most-feared and therefore respected amongst the culprits Atlas experts deal with. This quite simply, is out of pure dread of being doused in a skunk’s signature aroma, which has a remarkable range of up to ten meters, depending on the wind direction!

Unlike Pepé Le Pew, skunks are actually timid, non-confrontational and unobtrusive, and if it was not for their trademark stench, you may not be aware of their presence…unless of course, they decide to take up residence in your humble abode!

Skunks tend to inhabit porches, decks, sheds, etc. – anywhere they can find shelter and warmth. Due to their inquisitive nature and poor eyesight, they have the tendency to be a little accident-prone and may end up in basement window wells, etc.

It is their offensive, lingering odor; potential pet / skunk conflict; destructive tendencies not just to your home but they also will do some unsolicited landscaping for you; and people’s fear of being sprayed or worse, contracting rabies from a skunk (although unlikely), that makes the skunk one of the top offenders Atlas’ clients want promptly removed.

Note: If you are unfortunate enough to be sprayed by a skunk’s noxious cologne then apparently the best tried-and-tested stink-fighting antidote is a concoction of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish soap. We are certain you do not want to be quarantined by your family friends whilst the stench subsides (which can take a week!) so Atlas experts advise that prevention is better than cure. Whilst we cannot prevent you from accidentally stumbling across a skunk, by not having them as lodgers will lessen your chances of an encounter!
