Ladner Pest Control

Delta was originally sighted by European explorers in the late 18th century, and was given a far more exotic name “Isla Capeda”. Perhaps its flat-lands and coastal shore were not enough to entice and intrigue the Spanish so they sailed on by, erroneously concluding that the land was in fact an island. It was at least another seventy years later that Europeans returned to the region, this time to settle.
Incorporated in 1879, today Delta is composed of three distinct communities: North Delta, Tsawwassen and Ladner. Tsawwassen is aptly named after the Tsawwassen indigenous peoples of the Coast Salish First Nations and unofficially known as “South Delta”. Ladner obtained its name from two English brothers, Thomas and William Ladner. Their initial intention was to follow their Californian gold rush dream but instead found their desired treasured through farming and fishing in Delta’s low-lying and fertile land.
Home of Burns Bog
Situated at the Fraser River delta, Delta is the epitome of its name: rich soil, ideal for farming, and vast areas of water, a haven for an abundance and array of wildlife. As a result of its landscape Delta was relatively isolated until infrastructure developments, predominantly throughout the late 50s and early 60s, paved the way for whopping population growth of 400% over the ensuing 20 years! Further infrastructure improvements in the 80s coupled with the demand for more affordable housing in recent times has continued this trend. Although growth has not been at the same unprecedented rate – this could be owing to regulations preserving sizable areas for agricultural purposes and natural wetlands that are vital for wildlife conservation.
Nevertheless, there are still many occurrences in Delta where humans clash with animals – whether it is residential, commercial or industrial Atlas experts will solve your problem.
Did You Know? Delta is home to Burns Bog, a raised bog ecosystem, which is the largest undeveloped urban landmass in North America, spanning 3,000 hectares!
